Menu of Asian Bodywork Therapy Services
Nationally certified and Wisconsin state-licensed massage and bodywork therapists are trained in Swedish, Trigger Point, and Deep Tissue. Most therapists are also experienced in delivering Hot Stone Massage. I can accommodate any of the above requests but specialize in Asian Bodywork Therapies as detailed below:
Japanese Bodywork
Japanese bodywork treatments are based in Traditional Chinese Medicine that focus on the flow of vital energy called 'Qi' that courses through the body in a 24-hour period. The practitioner will use tongue and six-pulse assessment to customize bodywork for your specific needs. Bodywork is available on a traditional tatami mat or Shiatsu table.
Thai Bodywork
Northern Style Thai Bodywork (nuat phaen boran thai) is an ancient form of therapeutic healing first practiced in India where it was brought to Thailand by Ayurvedic doctors and Buddhist monks. It combines acupressure, energy balancing, stretching and applied yoga exercise. It can improve flexibility, relaxation and energy levels. Apprenticed in Thailand by masters of the art, the therapist will bring years of advanced practice to the mat.
Ayurvedic Bodywork
According to Ayurveda (a 5,000-year-old Science of Life established in India) each of us inherits a unique proportion of three mind/body/principles called doshas. The three doshas - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha - create our specific mental and physical characteristics. The profound Ayurvedic treatments will help restore balance within your doshas. Oils prepared for the season by Ayurvedic physician Pratima Raichur are heated in traditional copper vessels for the Abhyanga that has been helpful for diseases of the nervous and immune system. Dependent upon dosha that is not in balance, Shirodhara pours either warmed oil or warmed milk onto the Ajna Chakra or Third Eye to rest the mind. Transdermal creams formulated by Vaidya R.K. Mishra complete the session.

Mindful Massage in Qi-ssage
Qi-ssage blends Spring Forest Qigong with touch to balance the Five Elements that function within the body and to enhance the flow of life energy, or qi, through meridian pathways that circulate throughout the body. Research has demonstrated that the telomeres, the protective caps of our chromosomes and the only malleable part of our DNA that reflects our cellular age, is strengthened through the practice of qigong.
